We caught up with Professional Organizer and Interior Designer Leslie to ask her a few questions. Hopefully her answers to our questions will inspire you in some way. Before you begin the interview, we want to know a little about who you are. Please share with us a little about yourself that you don't mind sharing with the world.


I am a native of Virginia Beach, Virginia, and owner of Opulent Professional Organizing. I am passionate about being organized and I love home décor. Earning a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in interior design gave me the skills required to create functional, cohesive, and aesthetically pleasing living environments. My hobbies include wine tasting, fashion/style, and decorating.


Who is someone (living or deceased) that you feel embodies/embodied outstanding etiquette?

Ophelia DeVore who was the first African American etiquette/ charm school owner.


If you could choose one virtue to bestow upon everyone in the world, what would it be?

I would bestow the virtue of wisdom. Wisdom is the virtue of good judgement.


What is one thing you learned later in life, that you wish you were taught sooner?

Later on in life I learned that thoughts become things and that there is power in the subconscious mind.


Do you believe etiquette is less important in the 21 Century or more important? (explain)

I believe that etiquette is always important no matter the time. Being polite, punctual, courteous, and civil towards one another is timeless.


What is the best etiquette advice you have ever received?

Treat others the way you would like to be treated.


Do you think today’s woman is concerned with, learning etiquette and social graces? (explain)

The majority of today's women are not concerned with learning etiquette and social grace. In fact I believe that it is a lost art. It is something that i believe should be taught in schools to help revive it.


In what ways can a person make a positive first impression?

Be punctual. Etiquette such as punctuality is vital and can make or break one's reputation

Beauty Tip: When applying your makeup always finish your look with a setting spray.

Style Tip: Less is more. Try to keep the accessories to your outfit at a minimum. This will give you a more effortless appearance.


How does manners and etiquette make the world a better place?

Manners and etiquette makes the world a better place because it requires us to hold ourselves to a higher standard.
